S2M has formed a partnership with Manweir to set up a new Service Center in Qatar to provide its customers there with local support and faster response times. Manweir is part of the Mannai Group, and is a commercial company based in Qatar.

An S2M tuning engineer will be based permanently at the Center, which opens in October 2006. It is planned to have over 70 machines on Middle East sites by the end of 2007. S2M intends the Center to improve its service to Middle East customers and raise its profile by a permanent local presence, speaking the same language as the local operator.

 

Frank Hagneré, the General Manager of S2M's Customer Service Unit, explained,

"Our customers choose S2M for the technical excellence of our magnetic bearings, but a key factor in their decision is our customer service support, which provides on-the-spot intervention all over the world by our engineers and specialists.

This new local Service Center is part of our continuing commitment to being one jump ahead of the field in this key area of customer support. It will ensure that end-users in the region benefit from faster-than-ever intervention speeds when they need it.

For S2M, being global also means acting locally."

He added,

"This new Center will bring us closer to end-users of our magnetic bearings. Additionally, our servicing logistics will be markedly improved, while we will also manage our final customers' spare parts stocks.

Last but not least, we will overcome the frequent problem of delays caused by traveling and the need to obtain visas."
